AEDIBNET is a project funded by the European Commission that had the objective of strengthening a common African European innovation ecosystem by supporting local digital innovation and startup ecosystems in Africa and facilitating the collaboration between European and African Innovation Hubs. Part of the project was the startup partnership program that was bridging African and European startup ecosystems to mature the innovation capacity of startups and SMEs participating in the project activities and create conditions for continuous mentoring and collaboration.
I was responsible for organising three bootcamps for over 50 African and European startups taking place in 2023:
- Virtual kick-off Bootcamp in March – two dynamic days, expert speakers, and 60+ engaged startups featuring European and African investors Khaldoun Shehadeh, Dennis Huizing, Ben White, Tomi Davies, and Yrjö Ojasaar.
- Three-day bootcamp in Brussels in October – a journey of entrepreneurship in Brussels combined with European Angel Investment Summit (EAIS) featuring European and African investors and entrepreneurs Kristjan Raude, Jean-Louis Brelet, Audra Elena Shallal and Jaak Ennuste.
- Three-day bootcamp in Cape Town in November – a deep dive into the African investment world combined with Africa Early Stage Investor Summit (AESIS). Sharing their insights were European and African investors Riivo Anton, Yemi Keri and Umulinga Karangwa.
